Having had time to digest yesterday’s devastating events, we are incredibly sad to have lost Gewan following a racecourse gallop at Kempton.
Gewan was an exceptional talent and a horse of immense presence, whose victory in the Dewhurst marked him out as one of the most exciting prospects of his generation after being crowned Champion 2YO in 2025. We had all looked forward with great anticipation to the season ahead and his future at stud.
Our heartfelt thoughts are with everyone involved, Andrew Balding and his entire team who have devoted so much care and attention to him each day at Kingsclere, especially his groom & rider Marie Perrault.
At Ace Stud, we pride ourselves on celebrating the very best of the thoroughbred, and Gewan embodied that in every sense. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
