Via Sistina returns to the UK

We are pleased to welcome 12-time Gr.1 heroine Via Sistina (Fastnet Rock) to Ace Stud as she returns to the UK to start her new life as a broodmare. She will be visiting Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) this season.

The eight-year-old mare was bred by Laundry Cottage Stud Farm and was initially sold by Jamie Railton to Stephen Hillen Bloodstock for just 5,000gns at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale in 2019.

Her racing career started as a three-year-old at Joseph Tuite’s yard, where she won two races before transferring to George Boughey’s in Newmarket. She won her first Group race in the Gr.3 Prix Fille de l’Air at Toulouse at the back-end of her four-year-old campaign. Her next two runs landed her the Gr.2 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket, as well as her first Gr.1 win in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh in 2023.

She placed in three more Gr.1 races as a five-year-old, including finishing third in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket, second in the Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville, as well as being the runner-up in the Champion Stakes at Ascot that season. She then went under the hammer at the Sceptre Sessions at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale, where she was sold to continue her career in Australia.

Via Sistina was trained by Chris Waller for the next two seasons and added a further 11 blacktype wins to her CV for her new owners Yulong Investments. At the end of her career she had won a total of 16 races from 29 starts with her total prize money amounting to just under £10 million.

We look forward to her settling into the Ace Stud broodmare band whilst she is in the UK and cannot wait to see what the future holds for her and her progeny.
